We are FROST, an ethereal pop band comprised of husband, wife & our non-verbal son. Together, we create cinematic & whimsical tracks inspired by the complexities of the human condition & curiosities of the natural world. We accompany our instrumentation with visual art & poetic word. From the inception of an idea to its sound-waves and visual presentations, we offer you an immersive experience inciting emotion and inspiration.
I was in my garden one day and noticed many monarch caterpillars were disappearing due to predators. I couldn’t help but see how we too were struggling to survive. So, I began creating butterfly habitats in my studio to help boost the monarch population in our area. We learned so much about ourselves as we followed the metamorphoses of over 20 butterflies raised in our home. For example–during the pupating process, the caterpillar creates an exoskeleton and literally digests itself. No one ever said change is easy. We too had been forced to be indoors, in our own chrysalis during lockdown and we chose to find beauty, inner peace & when it was time to emerge, we only wanted to offer beauty.
When working on the song we wanted it to have an ethereal airy feeling, full of excitement. For extra soundscape, we used flapping butterfly wing sounds from artist Juan Fontanive’s electric butterfly flipbook. “Emerging from the Dream” is a song of new journeys with sounds like slow-moving bass to mimic a caterpillar in search of food & pieced together samples of different percussive sounds to imitate nature (i.e. snapping a twig, dropping a book, etc. for an organic sound in a drum set). The cymbal swells are always like a deep breath. The heavy-hitting drums give excitement for new adventures. Lastly, we gave fluttering and swirling strings to keep the overall feeling delicate & diaphanous.
Inspired by the Monarch Butterfly emerging from chrysalis. Creamy Jade Green, White, Black, Gold, Orange (predominately black suit with creamy jade green and gold color accents, or gold hardware).
Nostalgia…during lockdown we couldn’t connect in person with people we love & missed. It gave us those nostalgic sentimental feelings of missing someone even more because you don’t know when you will see them again.
Like so many others, we were separated from loved ones by the pandemic and even by continents. We dove into old letters, text messages, home movies, and pictures to reignite those memories. We wanted to embrace the positive, energetic side of having these evocative emotions.
It can be incredibly life-giving to replay old memories with loved ones. “See You Soon” is looking back on memories fondly with a big smile on your face while looking forward to making more memories in the near future.
The concept lent itself to a song with retro styles & groovy progressions with a horn section & excited percussion. There is still a tone of longing underneath the high vibration alluding to the temporary separation from loved ones. The song transmits a feeling of good days gone by, but with a high-step energy to make more good days when we meet again.
Nostalgia seen in muted colors evoking a longing feeling (like periwinkle, beige, lavender, teal) with a minimalistic floral outline print in black or white. The print is a deconstructed soundwave screenshot from the song, “See You Soon xoxo” made into floral shapes & outlines to highlight the romantic feelings of missing someone.

LatinX Sunshine high energy vibes. Acoustic flamenco guitar. Celebratory & sensual. The vocal expresses gratitude for all of our unique differences & sings of freedom and community after being inside/isolated.
The last two years, we took on the task of learning how to be fully alive at a time when we felt like we were being held back. For many of us, our bodies & minds shifted of almost 2 years without being as active or as social. Physical changes on your body can affect your mental health in a negative way so we challenged ourselves with the journey-work to heal and thrive in our skin. We like to call our bodies “soul-houses”. By practicing acceptance & gratitude for our ever-changing bodies we unlocked a new bold confidence. By the time restrictions were lifted, all we wanted was for the sun to kiss our skin & be with friends. Celebrating every angle, curve and stretch-mark made over the last few years, or even in your lifetime is a victory. “Sol Kissed” is fortitude & victory in a suit–it says, “you found harmony within yourself & you’re showing it”.
Neon bright serves as a bold contrast with static black/white. The neon/bright (orange, yellow, fuschia, blue) colors represent confidence, strength and stepping out after being held back. The contrasting black & white provide the feeling of uncertainty or lacking options. The print is a deconstructed soundwave screenshot from the song “Sol Kissed” creating colorful sun sprays and a nod to yin/yang symbols.
This suit is a celebration of acceptance in the mind & body serving up lots of skin. 2 piece string bikini with a simple latin feel. Brazilian look, cut high bottoms with triangle string basic top. Cut is simple but bold by showing a lot of skin.1-piece swimsuit has a sexy open-back and V-shaped front to absorb more sun into the soul.
